Flowers are a beautiful and essential part of any wedding. They can add a touch of personality, color, and elegance to your big day. They can tell a story! With so many different types of flowers, trends, and arrangements to sort through, we know it can be tough to get started. Ultimately our number one piece of advice is to have fun choosing your flowers!! However, we're hoping this equips you a bit more to make some informed decisions about your wedding flowers and to find a florist who will create a stunning floral display that you will cherish for years to come!

#1 Consider the overall style of your wedding. Formal or casual? Whimsical Garden Party or Elegant Romantic Indoors? The general vibes of your day will help determine if flowers like roses or wildflowers are for you.

#2 Think about your colors. If your wedding colors are peach, lilac, and cream - your wedding flowers could be a mixture or they could be all one color. We're pretty fond of breaking the rules and thinking outside the box with color! If you're looking for a traditional mixture of colors within your flowers, find a florist who seems good at this style of design! If you're looking for something unique and spunky with your flowers, there are designers who thrive in that realm as well (cough cough). 

#3 Consider the season. This is an easy one. Don't hop on pinterest and start saving wildflower wedding inspo if you picked a date in January. Don't choose large hanging installations at your outdoor reception in March, because the wind will be stronger. If you picked an outdoor summer wedding, keeping your blooms alive in the dead of summer will require a bit more care and therefore a bit more budget. Keep in mind all that the season may hold!

#4 Understand the investment. Flowers actually aren't the expensive part of the process - it's the expertise you're paying for. The investment you'll make in your wedding flowers is ultimately based on the designer and how much you trust that designer. If you're expecting specialty flowers like peonies or orchids, you can expect to pile up your budget pretty quickly on the combination of flowers + design services. Talk with your favorite florist on how you can achieve your floral vision within a range that feels comfortable to you.
